Uses a mixed-method approach to conduct an audit of workplace health and safety and environmental conditions in 17 RACFs. Surveys 398 registered nurses (RN), enrolled nurses (EN), and Healthcare Assistants (HCA) about the mental and physical stressors in their work.

Determines the relationship between three aspects of organisational climate -- nursing relationships, charge-nurse manager leadership, and staff organisation -- and early-career nurses' perceptions of job satisfaction and burnout. Receives 91 responses to a mixed-method survey. Identifies significant themes that emerged from thematic analysis: supervisor support, emotional labour, workload and staffing relations.

Analyses data using triangulation and pattern matching to pinpoint three themes: staffing; leadership, teamwork, and communication; and assessment and early intervention. Finds a correlation between difficult work conditions with high-dependency patients and complex care needs, and prevalence of pressure injuries.
