Provides a critical reflection on the integration of empirical learning with the literature on integrative reviews. Avers that in undertaking an integrative review, Granduate Entry Nursing students learn how nursing care is based in evidence-based practice. Considers the common problems for nursing students which make supervisory oversight necessary at every stage. Draws on the experiences of three academic supervisors with threshold concepts to suggest that incorporating a research identity into students' developing nursing identity enhances evidence-informed practice. |

Performs an explanatory sequential mixed-methods study comprising a questionnaire followed by interviews, to understand the experiences and preparedness of nurse educators in working with Maori nursing students. Demonstrates that throughout NZ, nursing schools and the educational institutes in which they are situated are informed by a range of strategies aimed at supporting Maori learners. Finds from interviews that environments encompassing te ao Maori (the Maori world) and staff practises that aligned with this were enabling for Maori nursing students. |

Outlines findings from a longitudinal study of the reporting of violence and aggression (V&A) within Christchurch Hospital Emergency Department (ED). Continues a prospective, longitudinal cohort study involving repeated yearly audits of ED staff reporting V&A during the same month each year. Employs an audit approach, focussing on the accuracy of routine reporting. Captures data from 2014-2020,including staff members' professional group, gender, category of V&A (e.g. verbal or physical abuse or threat, and physical or sexual assault), date and location of incident, and the individual who committed the violence. |

Maintains that achieving health equity for indigenous populations requires indigenous nursing leadership to develop and implement new systems of care delivery. Develops a consensus among indigenous nurse academics from Australia, Canada, NZ and the US on the three themes of nursing leadership, to redress colonial injustices, to contribute to models of care and to enhance the indigenous workforce. Highlights five indigenous strategies for influencing outcomes: nationhood and reconcilation as levers for change; nursing leadership; workforce strategies; culturally-safe practices and models of care; nurse activism. |

Finds an inverse relationship between the FACT service and the well-being of staff. |

Performs both inception and retrospective cohort studies using the Australian and NZ ICU adult patient database before, and post-publication of the ICU-ROX trial results. |
