Abstract |
Provides a critical reflection on the integration of empirical learning with the literature on integrative reviews. Avers that in undertaking an integrative review, Granduate Entry Nursing students learn how nursing care is based in evidence-based practice. Considers the common problems for nursing students which make supervisory oversight necessary at every stage. Draws on the experiences of three academic supervisors with threshold concepts to suggest that incorporating a research identity into students' developing nursing identity enhances evidence-informed practice. |

Provides a commentary on the work of executive nurses within the Nursing Leadership Group of the New Zealand Aged Care Association as COVID-19 spread into some aged residential care (ARC) facilities in early 2020 and threatened the health and wellbeing of many residents and nurses. Examines how the Group influenced the agenda and implementation of policies for ARC and brought the voice of nursing and residents of aged care to the forefront at national and regional levels. |

Promotes the use of the SOAP(IE) framework for nursing documentation. Conducts action research to identify areas within cycles of planning, implementation, evaluation and reflection in need of improvement. Undertakes three cycles of action research using audits, surveys and a focus group interview with RNs in two DHB medical wards. Increases the uptake of SOAP through education sessions and tools, and nurse champions. |

Demonstrates that throughout NZ, nursing schools and the educational institutes in which they are situated are informed by a range of strategies aimed at supporting Maori learners. Finds from interviews that environments encompassing te ao Maori (the Maori world) and staff practises that aligned with this were enabling for Maori nursing students. |

Performs a retrospective audit of eight Diabetes Nurse-Led Clinics (DNLC) in two regions of DNLC provision in Auckland over a 12-month period from 2016-2017, at which 707 patients were booked for appointments. Undertakes a nested sampling of two randomly-selected DNLCs, in which 71 participants were invited to participate. Explores patients' perspectives of attendance or non-attendance at their booked appointments. Examines whether patients perceive any benefits of attendance at the clinics, and identifies factors that might improve their experiences with DNLCs. |
