Abstract |
Traces the origins of gerontology knowledge among student nurses while considering how people designated as older are perceived by the student nurse, and the effects of functional decline and biomedical discourses on their views of older people when on clinical placement in aged residential care (ARC) facilities. Hghlights the contested domain of gerontology knowledge to generate dialogue about how older age is actually represented in student nurse education, as the current iteration perpetuates stereotypical assumptions about older age. |

Abstract |
Explores how current nursing and health-care practices can be designed to facilitate effective type 1 diabetes (T1D) self-management in young adults aged 16-25 years. Identifies four themes by means of thematic analysis: digital information systems; glucose monitoring and insulin devices; group- and peer-education and peer support; diabetes care delivery style. Highlights the importance of adopting age-appropriate interventions to improve young adults' engagement in T1D self-management, requiring nurses and health-care practitioners to keep up to date with the rapid changes in digital technology and diabetes-related device technology. |

Trials and evaluates the tool between 2018-2019, inviting all OR staff to participate using the tool to measure their job satisfaction once each shift. Follows up the trial with an online feedback survey. Proves that overall job satisfaction is positively related to daily job satisfaction and affective commitment, and negatively related to emotional exhaustion. Suggests the Morale-o-Meter has the potential to increase the voice of OR nurses. |
