Describes virtual clinics as planned contact by a nurse to a patient for the purposes of clinical consultation,advice and treatment planning. Examines nurse-led virtual clinic follow-up within chronic care services, particularly in relation to clinical utility and clinical outcomes. Identifies three themes from search of the literature: technical aspects of nurse-led virtual clinics, outcomes of nurse-led virtual clinics; the future application of nurse-led virtual clinics within the health industry. |

Explores the positive and negative aspects of their experiences and the factors affecting performance of interRAI-based comprehensive health assessments. Identifies the aids and barriers faced by RNs in applying and using interRAI. Conducts focus-group interviews with 7 RNs. Highlights the need for a unified standard assessment system. |

Abstract |
Argues that undergraduate nurse education contributes to the problem of too few nurses choosing to work in aged care, by constructing working in aged care as a lower-status or less valuable area of work than other health-care areas. Examines the issue using Foucauldian discourse analysis to explore the dominant discourses being deployed in relation to clinical experience in aged care. Collects data through semi-structured interviews with 10 senior academic staff members from NZ tertiary institutions. Analyses interview data to reveal how a 'nurse education discourse' and a 'work-ready discourse' were shaping perceptions of aged care as a clinical experience in a variety of ways. Suggests that how and why aged care is utilised as a space to learn a range of nursing skills has the unintended effect of devaluing and discouraging employment in aged care settings. |

Describes the lived experience of health professionals ageing at work, and of the managers interacting with them. Demonstrates that the ability of older practitioners to adapt to meet the ongoing physical demands of practice and their shifting workplace environment determines whether they will be valued at work and remain in their roles. |

Explores the experiences of 10 women post-operatively following mastectomy in an acute surgical ward in a large tertiary hospital in NZ by means of face-to-face, semi-structured, individual interviews. Identifies the women's expectations of care and service delivery from healthcare professionals, in order to inform the development of evidence-based interventions and models of care for the breast cancer care team. Suggests potential areas for future research. |

Conducts an exploratory study to understand nurses' use of technology during the COVID-19 lockdown, in particular which information and communication technologies (ICT) were being used and how nurses felt about using ICT in their practice. Selects an anonymous online survey, with both open- and closed-ended questions, as a safe data-collection method during level 3 lockdown (from March to May 2020), via social media and email networks. Analyses 220 responses from nurses regarding access issues with ICT, with technical support, connectivity, and with patients and colleagues. |

Aims to understand how RN prescribers interact with other members of the health care team and to identify the social processes at play. Employs Bourdieu's 'Theory of Practice' to explore health care teams as competitive social spaces where health professionals vie to establish social position and authority. Recruits three health care teams representing primary health and specialty practice for interviews and observation. Highlights three themes from the data: social topography, working with an RN prescriber; and patterns of communication. |
