Reports some findings of a study which examined primary health care (PHC) nurses' preparedness for engaging older adults in conversation about sexual health research. Examines the experiences and beliefs of PHC nurses working with older clients. Conducts three focus groups with 16 participants who discussed their experiences, values and perceptions of conversations on sexual health with older clients. |

Details how the author employed focused ethnography in her doctoral research to investigate nurses' and parents' experience of emotional communication in the context of a children's unit of a regional hospital in NZ. Interviews 10 parents and 10 nurses after the children were discharged. Validates the ethnographic method as a means of inspecting the hidden as well as observable aspects of nurse-parent interaction. |

Collates and analyses evaluations of Central Region Kia Ora Hauora programmes from 2010-2017 to discovers what interventions in the programme were most effective for increasing the recruitment of Maori into health careers. Identifies Work-choice Day and Work Experience Day as the most effective interventions, and that meeting health professionals and taking part in simulated practice experiences were influential. |
