Abstract |
Argues for an integrated care model combining mental and primary health care while providing person-centred care that upholds the principles of the Treaty of Waitangi. Maintains that there is a need for national guidelines for the management and assessment of people with serious mental illness (SMI)to redress their health disparities. Suggests that nurses have the opportunity to become agents of change to address this issue of social justice. |

Reports some findings of a study which examined primary health care (PHC) nurses' preparedness for engaging older adults in conversation about sexual health research. Examines the experiences and beliefs of PHC nurses working with older clients. Conducts three focus groups with 16 participants who discussed their experiences, values and perceptions of conversations on sexual health with older clients. |

Abstract |
Undertakes a qualitative, phenomenological study to explore the experiences of practitioners delivering asthma services to tamariki Maori and their whanau in primary healthcare. Employs a kaupapa Maori methodology in order to provide a Maori perspective to the research. Uses an equity framework in the analysis and interpretation of the results, to ensure alignment with Maori values and aspirations. Interviews 15 doctors and nurses from Maori, mainstream and Very-Low-Cost-Access providers of asthma services. Presents the results using the Pou Ora framework with four main themes: Hauora, Toi Ora, Whanau Ora, and Mauri Ora. |

Abstract |
Explores the current climate of infection prevention control (IPC) clinical governance in NZ. Audits IPC management plans in NZ District Health Boards (DHB) to evaluate which clinical governance factors facilitate or hinder IPC best practice. Employs a mixed-method, exploratory, qualitative study design to conduct semi-structured interviews with ten IPC nurses across NZ. Seeks to understand their perceptions of the IPC Standard, how it is implemented in their DHB, how the IPC risks are managed, and which barriers hinder IPC engagement. Analyses IPC documentation from all 20 DHBs to examine IPC clinical governance in each DHB. |

Identifies two categories of mobility problems: 'compromised pre-existing mobility', with a subcategory of 'accessing services prior to admission' and 'mobilisation difficulties during hospitalisation', with a subcategory of 'dissonance between dependency and need for assistance'.
