Abstract |
There needs to be more practice-focused research about how cultural safety is experienced by the recipient of care and how it is applied in nursing and healthcare delivery. [...]sociology, science, and knowledge developed from within northern hemisphere societies. Because the ground is different for knowledge arising from the New Zealand experience, theorising cultural safety must be different too. |

Abstract |
Critically examines the theoretical base of the cultural safety guidelines for nursing practice with respect to culturally and linguistically diverse (CALD) groups. Poses two questions: have the guidelines led to culturally-safe nursing practice in health care for CALD groups; have the guidelines contributed to provision of culturally-acceptable health care for CALD groups? |

Abstract |
Argues that the globalisation of nursing and the internationalisation of nursing education potentially leads to the values underpinning nursing curricula coming into conflict with those of other cultures. Suggests the need to examine the values inherent in ethics education in nursing, proposing that cultural safety is incorporated into it in an increasingly multi-cultural nursing environment. |

Abstract |
Undertakes a thematic analysis to highlight Maori women's perspectives on health and wellbeing. Identifies 6 key themes in the data: mihi (initial engagement), whakawhanaungatanga (belonging through relationships of shared experience), kaupapa (consultations' main purpose), tapu (sacred and set apart), embodied memories, manawahine (women's knowledge and authority). Asks women about those approaches used by non-indigenous clinicians, receptionists and service providers that enhanced their experiences of cultural safety during sexual health consultations and gynaecological examinations. |

Abstract |
Performs an explanatory sequential mixed-methods study comprising a questionnaire followed by interviews, to understand the experiences and preparedness of nurse educators in working with Maori nursing students. Demonstrates that throughout NZ, nursing schools and the educational institutes in which they are situated are informed by a range of strategies aimed at supporting Maori learners. Finds from interviews that environments encompassing te ao Maori (the Maori world) and staff practises that aligned with this were enabling for Maori nursing students. |
